Single Day And Multi Day Rafting Trips

Thursday, August 19, 2010 by Rafting America Staff
scenic float tripsDid you know that rafting doesn't have to be an all weekend affair?

There are single day float trips available - they might be full day trips or just partial day trips.  In fact, a
single day White Water Rafting Trip is offered throughout North and South America.

The majority of the single day rafting trips involve paddle boat rafting, however a few outfitters may also have oar boats and inflatable kayaks available.

To go a full-day or partial-day rafting trip, the rivers are split into sections or the geographical separation between different area of the river so that the river outfitters can distinguish the length of the trip.

Of course, if you would prefer, we also offer multi-day trips from something as short as a weekend trip to the even more adventurous 14-day trips!

Have you been on a river trip?  Which sort did you go on?  Did you like it?  Wish it were longer? Please feel free to leave a comment and share with fellow readers what your experience was like!

I'm Going Rafting - Can I Bring A Camera?

Wednesday, August 18, 2010 by Rafting America Staff
scenic float tripsWhether you are going Massachusetts Rafting, Pennsylvania Rafting, Montana Rafting, or rafting somewhere else you might be wondering if you can bring a camera along to catch the action.

First, you might check with the river outfitter that you're going on your trip with to see if they have any special tips, or supply any kind of dry bag or dry storage area on the boats you'll be in.  You might ask if there will be a professional photographer river side on your trip that takes photos of every group in a certain rapid and sells them later at a location in town after your trip.

If you plan to be in a paddle raft the entire length of your trip, you should plan to leave the photography to someone else because you'll need to focus on paddling. In an oar rig, you may have your hands more free to take pictures between rapids.

Waterproof options: There are some new digital cameras that are fully waterproof, there are plastic cases of various sizes that will keep your camera dry--but be sure it can be attached somewhere to the boat safely. There are also disposable waterproof cameras available in most places.

Of course, if you end up bringing along your expensive camera, invest in a waterproof case that will protect your camera from sand, water and things that may bump or crush it while on the river. Have fun "shooting" the rapids!

Great Family Vacation!

Saturday, August 7, 2010 by Rafting America Staff

family vacationRafting is a fun recreational sport which consists of navigating through rivers or other water bodies using an inflatable raft. There are a lot of varieties of boats from paddle-rafts, to oar rigs, to an inflatable kayak for one or two people. You can decide just how much challenge you want. A guide will handle everything for you in the oar rig, while the other options give you a paddle and expect you to participate, or even navigate on your own. Guided outfitter trips will look for every way to keep you safe and having fun, so get out there and get wet this summer!

Another reason this adventure is popular is it that it offers a chance to be away from the city, near nature and allows you to try something entirely new and different. The best guided river tours allow your kids to experience rafting and gives them exposure to a different sport.

So this summer gear up for a white water rafting trip and have a vacation like never before.
